Revolut
Revolut began as a travel card for getting better currency exchange rates and ended up being where a lot of people just keep their money now. One app gives you a current account, a debit card, and the ability to hold or swap between dozens of currencies.
The free plan covers normal spending and exchanges at the interbank rate, up to a monthly limit. Go over that and you'll eat some fees, unless you're on one of the paid tiers, which throw in extras like more free ATM withdrawals, travel insurance, or crypto access.
I mainly use it for the exchange rates when I travel — no markup on weekdays adds up fast if you're switching currencies a lot. Support is the weak point: it's basically all in-app chat, and getting an actual person to look at your problem can take longer than you'd want. Even so, for day-to-day spending and moving money across borders, it does the job better than most banks I've used.
